Join our Career Services team as our next Careers and Employability Support Officer, where you will gain unmatched experience working at The University during a time of exciting growth. This is vital administrative and logistical support role, enabling our Service to deliver exceptional student-facing services.

The Division of Academic and Student Engagement (DASE) partners with students, staff and the broader community to deliver an outstanding student experience. At the heart of the student experience are transformational opportunities in learning and teaching. The Student Experience branch within DASE is responsible for providing services that deliver an excellent student experience. This includes administrative and support services to students as well as service to, and partnership with, academic staff in the development of a high-quality, engaging and relevant learning environment.

Employability, Careers and Student Academic Skills deliver initiatives that enable students to succeed in their academic studies and beyond. Career Services empowers students and recent graduates to develop skills, knowledge and experience to support their career development, enhance their employability and achieve their career goals. Our Service supports both domestic and international students at all stages of their studies.

The International Careers team and the Industry Engagement Team plan, coordinate and develop programs, events and activities that boost students’ career experiences and employability. Working under general direction, the Careers and Employability Support Officer provides logistical, event and administrative support for industry engagement and employability development initiatives, activities, events and systems.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in event management including logistics, promotion, registration management and delivery.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and oral and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders from various cultural groups.
  • Demonstrated ability of multitasking and working with competing deadlines with sound judgement and ability to prioritise work tasks.
  • Evidence of digital literacy with demonstrated experience using administrative platforms such as CRM and event/project management systems (eg Smartsheet) to support program delivery and communication and the willingness to learn unfamiliar applications.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a focus on accurate record keeping of sensitive data.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
