(HE05) $82,922 to $92,203 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term 1.0FTE position available for 12 months.

The Research Officer will provide high quality research, technical and administrative support for large clinical research projects undertaken within the Lifelong Health Research Group, to ensure smooth and successful performance of the research program.

The research program focuses on improving pregnancy and health outcomes for all mothers and their babies. The Research Officer will engage in recruitment and conduct clinic appointments with study participants, collecting and maintaining accurate study records. They will assist with the development and maintenance of study processes and contribute to the dissemination and publication of clinically relevant research findings in the field of pregnancy and early childhood health. The applicant will be very well organised, demonstrate an ability to work autonomously, and work and communicate effectively in a dynamic team.

Led by Professor Jodie Dodd, the Lifelong Health Research Group strives to ensure that care for women and their infants is effective, and that treatment benefits outweigh harms. The Group has led internationally recognised, pivotal randomised controlled trials involving pregnant women, investigating interventions to reduce the risk of adverse pregnancy and infant outcomes.

To be successful you will need: 

  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of clinical research trials and working with human participants
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines with an ability to prioritise tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and database entry
  • Familiarity with laboratory management and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of scientific and medical terminology (Desirable)

    Qualification/s:
  • Completion of a relevant degree without subsequent relevant work experience
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
