Build strategic and proactive partnerships with academics and higher degree students to deliver library support for the University’s research, teaching and learning activities.
The successful applicant will lead outreach and engagement activities within their allocated faculty or school and will proactively build collaborative relationships across the University. The promotion of priority services and delivering against the Library’s Research Support Framework and Learning and Teaching Principles will be fundamental to this role.
The Liaison Librarian is responsible for leading liaison services to designated Faculties and/or Schools to enhance scholarly and research productivity, support teaching staff to deliver excellent learning outcomes for students at all levels and to strategically participate in learning, teaching and research activities. A key aspect of this role is to proactively engage with designated faculty and/or school staff, students and researchers to identify opportunities which support their research, learning and teaching needs while providing specialist advice that contributes to the advancement of the Library’s strategic objectives. The role has both a strategic engagement and operational focus.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and market information services in a higher education environment.
- An understanding of contemporary and emerging pedagogical practice, digital capabilities and graduate attributes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in open access publishing and scholarly communication, impact measurements and research data management.
- Experience in designing, leading and evaluating engaging information and research skills programs
- Proven ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers ensuring customer needs are met.
- Proven ability to actively contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team and implement change in the workplace.
- Eligible for professional membership of ALIA or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
