Research Fellow Opportunity in Protein Biochemistry.
This is an exciting opportunity for a completed or nearly completed PhD graduate with experience in protein biochemistry to join the Herbicide and Antimicrobial Innovation Laboratory led by ARC Future Fellow Dr Tatiana Soares da Costa.
Working closely with an industry partner, you will generate cutting-edge insights into protein structures and protein-ligand interactions using in silico approaches such as bioinformatics, modelling and docking. The successful candidate will be based at the University’s School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, providing a supportive environment that fosters cross-disciplinary learning, professional development, and meaningful contributions to sustainable agriculture.
The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine is one of eight Schools in the Faculty of SET, and represents a world-class concentration of scientific research, education and product conferring capability, with infrastructure and resources at the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide.
To be successful you will need:
- A completed or nearly completed PhD in Protein Biochemistry
- Demonstrated expertise in developing 3D protein structure models, protein-ligand docking and bioinformatics
- Demonstrated experience using protein visualisation software (e.g., PyMol)
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organisational and communication skills
- Demonstrated high level of self-motivation, personal management skills and teamwork
