Full time fixed term contract for 12 months with the potential opportunity to extend to the end of 2027.
The Pedagogical Lead will strategically plan, develop, and contribute to leading the CNS professional learning strategies with staff in each of the selected school sites. This will involve working closely with several schools across SA, including schools in regional and remote areas (requiring travel). The role will require working closely with and in support of school leaders and the research team with the aim of strengthening teachers’ pedagogic and curriculum practices. Additionally, the successful applicant will also engage with the interstate CNS pedagogical leaders for the purposes of collaborative strategic planning and support.
The Pedagogical Lead may contribute to research related activities such as gathering, analysing, writing up and presenting research data in support of the project and its progress with teachers within the research schools. The candidate must be able to work closely with school-based Aboriginal staff, especially the Aboriginal Education Officers and the Cultural Mentors and build effective relationships with the schools’ Principals and Heads of Professional Learning.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven track record in leading and modeling high quality teaching and learning practices in classrooms and supporting professional conversations with teachers.
- Familiarity and confidence when working with schools and learning communities across urban, rural and remote settings, including willingness and capacity for frequent travel and facilitating in-person professional learning activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander values, perspectives, and knowledges that will contribute to professional learning strategies.
- Proven record of work with and for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and Communities in ways that demonstrates strong relationships.
- High level written, verbal, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills including the ability to interpret and present ideas to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
