Fixed term position full time available for a Diversity Outreach Coordinator for a fixed period until December 2025.
The Diversity Outreach Coordinator will collaborate with the Outreach and Engagement Team within the Domestic Recruitment portfolio, working alongside the Lead, Outreach and Engagement, STEM Teacher in Residence, and two fellow Outreach Coordinators. Responsibilities include implementing various school outreach programs aimed at supporting young women in pursuing STEM careers.
This role involves close cooperation with partner universities to develop and execute programs for primary and high school students. Additionally, it entails establishing a framework for effective outreach practices, partnering with professional associations like Robogals, and collaborating with internal divisions to achieve diversity objectives.
The Diversity Portfolio suite of programs aim to:
- Remove barriers that stop women taking part in STEM education and careers
- Empower girls and young women to pursue STEM degrees
- Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to pursue STEM degrees
You'll collaborate extensively with partner universities to craft and execute a comprehensive range of programs for primary and high school students. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, developing, and implementing these initiatives, as well as liaising with stakeholders, measuring outcomes, reporting on progress, and managing general administrative duties. Your approach will be data-driven, ensuring alignment with funding arrangements and delivering successful outcomes.
To be successful you will need:
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with proven ability to build relationships and positive rapport with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, project management and organisational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret data to evaluate programs and make recommendations for planning purposes.
- Knowledge of challenges and opportunities in working with schools and the education sector.
- Understanding of gender equity as a systemic, complex issue particularly in STEM.
You will be IT literate, highly experienced in Microsoft Office and cloud collaborative tools.
Prior experience working in primary or secondary education contexts would be an advantage in this role.
