The Technical Store Support Officer is responsible to facilitate the smooth operations of the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology stores.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SET), Technical Services team.
This role is responsible to facilitate the smooth operations of the SET stores. The stores are part of the Technical Services team that delivers outstanding support to students, academics/ researchers and professional staff, for enhancing education and research output. The functions of these stores include; supply and receiving; delivery points; chemical & consumable facilities as well as the fleet and field operations. Reporting to the Senior Store Technical Officer, and working with general direction the Technical Store Support Officer works collaboratively with the Faculty staff.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and hands on person working as part of a small team of Technical Store Support Officers, who work closely with academics, students and professional teams. They will be a service focused individual who looks to continuously improve customer service and efficiency within the store.
To be successful you will need:
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements relating to stores, workshop or laboratory environment including storage requirements for hazardous and dangerous materials.
- Experience in stock management including accurate record-keeping, preferably in a laboratory/technical environment.
- Ability to work with general direction, and exercise initiative as appropriate to achieve a standard of excellence and well-developed customer service and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office software package
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations
