The State Government of South Australia, CSIRO and the University of Adelaide’s Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) are actively interested in advancing leading research and development of AI).
The new Centre will leverage existing expertise to focus on the development of cross-cutting responsible AI research and address fundamental responsible AI problems at a sufficient scale for national and internation impact.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Program Manager, who under broad direction from the Centre Director, AIML Operations Manager and the Centre management team, will manage the Centre, contributing to the planning, implementation and operational management of the Centre’s four Programs.
The position will assist the Centre Director with delivery of the Centre’s milestones, development and implementation of plans and projects, supporting budgeting, recruitment, monitoring and reporting, supervision of professional support staff, partner coordination and community engagement.
The AIML at the University of Adelaide is the largest computer vision and machine learning research group in Australia with over 180 members including academics, research staff and students. The AIML works on a mixture of fundamental and commercially orientated research projects in computer vision and machine learning.
To be successful you will need:
- Significant experience working in a research management role within a scientific organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, team and networking communication, with proven experience in report writing.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, in managing and executing multiple outputs and deliverables, with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines to ensure completion.
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills with proven experience influencing decision makers through effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to complete tasks with precision and determination
Qualification:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
