Part Time (0.6FTE - 22.5hrs per week) - Fixed Term for 36 months

Join the forefront of innovative research as the Executive Officer for the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space (P4S) headquartered at the University of Adelaide.

As the Executive Officer for P4S, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Operating Officer with administrative duties, financial management, and coordination of Centre-wide activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a $90 million investment aimed at creating transformative solutions for space habitation and enhancing plant-derived food and bioresources for global markets.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work within a multidisciplinary team, liaise with international partners, and contribute to groundbreaking research in plant, food, and sensory science. Additionally, you will collaborate with administrative staff from five universities, gaining valuable experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.

To be successful you will need:  

  • Experience working in a research management role preferably in a university environment.
  • Experience in research administration and knowledge in research systems and processes, particularly relating to finance
  • Experience in database management.
  • Highly developed time and workload management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, meet deadlines and achieve results.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills, including for financial data, with capacity to deliver well written committee papers, minutes and reports, for an executive audience.

Qualification/s:

  • A degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
