The Elder Conservatorium of Music is seeking a Project Officer to coordinate and enhance the Conservatorium’s outreach activities, including the Open Music Academy’s Regional Program.
This role plays a vital part in delivering the Conservatorium’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and excellence in music education. You will help bring the joy of music to communities across South Australia by supporting regional and remote students and providing them with access to world-class educational opportunities through the Elder Conservatorium.
Working closely with staff across the Conservatorium, you will consolidate our community and school outreach initiatives, aligning the goals of our tertiary programs with those of the Open Music Academy under a single, coordinated framework.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised professional who is passionate about music, education, and community engagement to make a meaningful contribution to the Conservatorium’s recruitment and outreach strategy.
To be successful you will need:
Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
- Demonstrated experience in operational and artistic programming for regional and touring initiatives, with comprehensive knowledge of music, instruments, performance activities, and program development.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and creative abilities, with a high level of attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes within demanding timeframes, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities and circumstances.
- A sound understanding of music education in South Australia, including the interconnected roles of the Open Music Academy (OMA) and the Elder Conservatorium of Music within school and community music contexts.
Qualification/s:
- A Bachelor of Music   OR
- An equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/ or education / training
This position requires a valid Working with Children Check or be willing and eligible to apply.
