(Level B) $111,031 - $131,335 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term position for 36 Months.

An opportunity for a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Funded Senior Imaging Engineer will participate in cross-disciplinary activities within The School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering (EME) and will be involved with experimental designing and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment to enhance research outcomes. The MRFF is a grant supporting Australian health and medical research from the Australian Government in which the University has been successful in securing a share of this. This could also involve collaborating with leading institutions including the University of Sydney, University of Stuttgart, Royal Adelaide Hospital, SAHMRI, and Health Translation SA.

The Biomedical Engineering team is world-renowned for its expertise in areas such as bio-sensing and cardiovascular analysis. Our Biomedical Engineering discipline is a highly cross-disciplinary branch of engineering and touches on areas such as data science, machine learning, advanced computational design, and wearable technologies. 

 

To be successful you will need:

  1. Completion of a PhD in electrical, software, optical, biomedical engineering or physics or have equivalent qualifications or research experience

  2. Strong ability in at least three of: photonics, optics, electronics, biomedical engineering, opto-mechanical systems, software engineering, and image processing.

  3. Experimental design and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment to enhance research outcomes.

  4. Experience in working as a team player, preferably within a cross-disciplinary team.

  5. An understanding of the expectations of performing research in a commercial setting and knowledge of the processes involved in conducting clinical trials.

  6. Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the School of EME community

Desired Characteristics:

  1. Track records of scholarly publications in prestigious journals, as measured by Q1 journals, impact factors and citations

This position requires a valid National Police Check.
