We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to be based within the TERN Ecosystem Surveillance team. The Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) is the national observatory for Australian ecosystems, delivering data streams that enable environmental research and management. TERN’s infrastructure is designed to examine Australian ecosystems and ecosystem processes at different scales from targeted monitoring at the local level, through to surveillance monitoring at regional scales, through to continental scale observation and modelling.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will need to have the ability to conduct field studies on plot size assessments, outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, research, design specific methodology and tackle experimental challenges creatively.
To be successful you will need:
- Strong computing skills in R software and demonstrated experience in quantitative analyses, and model simulations
- Ability to conduct field studies on plot size assessments
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform independent
- Research, design specific methodology, and tackle experimental challenges creatively
- Demonstrated ability to provide research capability to, and work effectively within, a multi-disciplinary team
- Availability to travel occasionally to conduct field work
Qualification/s:
- Completion or near completion of a PhD in Ecology or equivalent qualifications.
