Fulltime continuing position available immediately, convenient and vibrant CBD location (Grenfell Street).

9:00am start time, Monday-Friday (7.35 hours per day), and enjoy the luxury of flexible finishing times as our Business Operations Support Officer within our English Language Centre, which is a recognised leader in the higher education space for its English teachings and offerings.

The Division of Academic and Student Engagement (DASE) partners with students, staff and the broader community to deliver an outstanding student experience. At the heart of the student experience are transformational opportunities in learning and teaching.

The English Language Centre (ELC) offers a range of General, Specialised and Academic English language programs to the international and local market. The ELC consistently ranks as one of the leading English colleges in Australia, with a reputation for teaching quality, customer service and a world class student experience. Our offerings include: packaged pathway, short term programs and post entry Academic English skills offerings. The ELC works closely with schools, faculties, external partners to support the University’s strategic and commercial goals. The ELC is based in Adelaide and has a fluid intake of approximately 2000 students and 67+ teaching and professional staff.

The Business Operations Support Officer will provide administrative support to ELC Operations Team. The ELC Operations team has the important role of facilitating areas of the growing business including HR, Facilities and Finance. The Business Operations Support Officer is responsible for general finance related duties such as procurement, raising vendor Invoices and payment processing, assisting with various HR duties including the recruitment and induction process as required, as well as robust record management and monitoring various inboxes and registers.

To be successful you will need:

  • A natural ability to be solution-focused and a self-problem solver.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing executive or high-level administrative support, as well as experience or willingness to be student-facing on a daily basis.
  • Previous exposure organising domestic and international travel arrangements using various travel systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, monitoring and reconciliation of financial data to support the achievement of ELC’s strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word, and confident in learning and applying new systems and technologies (such as: ePro, Peoplesoft, Cognos, HPE records management).
  • A genuine desire to be a mature team player by being motivated and willing to particular to the team ethos of a ‘can do attitude’.
  • To be reliable & trustworthy and hold yourself to a high standard of integrity in your work.
