Multiple positions available.

Full-time/part-time fixed-term contracts, with the potential opportunity to work hybrid/remote.

We are growing our team! We have multiple opportunities available to join the Learning Enhancement and Innovation team. We are flexible to consider full-time, part-time (0.6 FTE – 0.9 FTE) with end dates in January 2025 and December 2025.

Learning Enhancement and Innovation (LEI) facilitate, collaborate, design and create engaging and flexible student-centric blended and online learning experiences. In partnership, LEI empower academics to teach and students to learn by providing expertise into design and development of innovative pedagogically-driven practices and learning technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, fast-moving team, and have the ability to share work and knowledge in a supportive environment. We work collaboratively, taking an agile and iterative approach often within tight project schedules, and we are seeking candidates to join the LEI team and shape the future with us.

Working in collaboration with a Learning Designer, the Digital Education Developer is tasked with the end-to-end build of courses within the Learning Management System (LMS) including page layout, learning resources, and learning activities using existing templates and a variety of graphic design, video, scenario-creation, and educational technologies. This includes creating page layouts using WYSIWIG editors and some HTML, using graphic design and multimedia tools to create learning resources, and learning activities, using tools such as the Adobe Creative Suit and H5P. Additionally, you'll transform raw materials and content created by others into cohesive online learning modules and participate in the quality assurance process by reviewing the work of others. Working closely with LEI teams, the Digital Education Developer is also responsible for supporting the capability development of teaching staff to sustain, maintain, and deliver courses developed within the LMS aligned with institutional quality practices and standards.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in designing online learning resources, ideally within a learning management system.
  • Demonstrated user-centred approach to design and development, with the ability to design and edit interactive multimedia.
  • Experience in programming, using WYSIWYG applications, and working with a wide range of software applications.
  • Knowledge of current digital technology and the technical processes for the delivery of audio-visual and interactive media.
  • A degree (in graphic design, multimedia, media arts or other related discipline) with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

It would also be desirable if you had experience in developing learning resources aligned with WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards, or in developing learning resources within the Canvas Learning Management System for the Tertiary Education Sector.
