Part-time Fixed term position

Support vital research and animal care at South Australia’s leading veterinary school.

Based at the University’s Roseworthy Campus, the Research Officer will play a key role in supporting vital animal and veterinary science projects through hands-on research, data collection, and livestock care.

The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences provides world-class, outcome-based education and training of animal and veterinary scientists in a research environment. Based at the Roseworthy Campus, 60km north of the Adelaide CBD and minutes from Gawler, the school is situated on a 1600 ha property that includes a working farm, full service Veterinary Health Centre teaching clinics, and a range of general purpose and specialist teaching and research facilities.

Working under routine supervision, the Research Officer will be responsible for providing assistance in the collection and measurement of research data and providing written progress reports on the project. The Research Officer will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain equipment and monitoring the wellbeing of livestock animals to enable the project to be successfully delivered on time.

To be successful you will need: (max 5)

  • Experience in conducting trials and monitoring livestock animals
  • Demonstrated experience with research protocols, sample collection and data analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with livestock animals
  • Experience in entering data accurately and reporting on data.
  • Completion of a Certificate IV with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
