Fixed term full-time position for 2 years

As part of a collaborative and supportive environment, the Grant Funded Researcher will work across a variety of projects, ensuring research excellence and compliance with health, safety, and wellbeing requirements.

The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Officer to join the Department of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience. This role will contribute to advancing research through the design, conduct, and analysis of in vitro testing and intensive animal trials, as well as the preparation of manuscripts and protocols.

In this role, you’ll play a hands-on part in advancing animal and veterinary bioscience research by conducting in vitro testing and intensive animal trials. You’ll contribute to developing research protocols, preparing manuscripts, and analysing data using statistical methods, turning results into meaningful insights. You’ll also have the chance to present findings through reports and presentations, making a real impact on the progression of research. Working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, you’ll thrive in an environment that values innovation, flexibility, and safety, with a strong commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing practices.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in conducting in vitro testing.
  • Good scientific skills in writing manuscripts and developing research protocols.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Basic knowledge to discuss and conduct statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting intensive animal trials.
