Opportunity to join the School of Health and Medical Sciences Administration Officer as a Placement Officer.

The Placement Officer will coordinate and provide a range of administrative and student support functions that underpin the delivery of placement activities and functions for the Faculty’s Coursework programs.

 

This position provides a range of professional support for the management of data, records and systems, including responding to queries and providing information, advice and support to students and academic staff. The position also delivers timely advice to student enquiries, and negotiates and liaises with providers, government and other stakeholders to support the resolution of placement issues, and to develop a range of projects, as required, to support the ongoing improvement of University systems and processes.

The Placement Officer works under general direction to coordinate the provision of a range of professional, academic and student focused, administrative support, services and advice. This includes the administration of a range of placement related functions and liaising with Academic and Professional staff to enable the facilitation of placements.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • Engage with students personally, or via phone and email contact to deliver responsive and professional practice placement service to students, student supervisors, liaison staff, agencies and employers, including supporting the delivery of associated planning, administration and service delivery functions and activities.
  • Undertake the effective administration of a range of placement related functions, including contributing to the organisation and verification of clinical skill requirements, to support the ongoing achievement of academic learning, teaching and assessment activities and functions.
  • Liaise with Academic and Professional staff to enable the facilitation of placements, including contributing to the development and delivery of a range of clear and accurate information and resources, and providing advice on the interpretation of program related policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the accurate monitoring and administration of placement records, documents and information, including verifying that all students have met the mandatory requirements of both the University and the Industry Partners. 
  • Manage the Student Placement System, including administering the dissemination of notifications regarding student placement details, and accessing, retrieving and interpreting a range of other data from the University’s information system, to develop reports, correspondence or responses.
