Research Associate (A) – School of Architecture and Civil Engineering

 

(Level A) $98,574 to $105,611 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation

Part Time 0.8 FTE, Fixed-Term position for 18 months

The School of Architecture at the University of Adelaide is excited to invite a motivated and talented Research Associate to join our collaborative team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in architecture, computational design, architectural engineering, or construction.

In this position you will work with world-class researchers, academics, award-winning practitioners, and global thought leaders. We focus on enhancing quality of life while minimising impact on the environment through innovation in designing, constructing, and maintaining the natural and built environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead innovative research projects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including industry partners.
  • Manage project resources and timelines effectively.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research publications and creative outputs.
  • Support the development of grant applications and funded projects.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Selection Criteria

1. A PhD in an architecture, computational design, architectural engineering, construction, or related discipline/area of research preferred.

2. Demonstrated research and administrative experience with evidence such as contributions to recent publications and or creative outputs, experience of working on grant funded projects or in research teams.

3. Demonstrated creativity and design strengths which may include computational design experience, innovative design practice, and good graphical and communication skills

4. Demonstrated capacity and skills to manage resources and time.

5. Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to work confidently and effectively with colleagues, project team leaders, and potentially industry partners.

6.Willingness to work as required on diverse projects

7. Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion

  • Due to the quick turnaround needed, applicants must have work rights in Australia and be available to work in Adelaide.
