Casual Administration Officer opportunity available for 1-2 days per week within the School of Computer & Mathematical Sciences – a perfect role for an individual who would like to develop skills in emerging technologies and project management.

The Computer Science Education Research Group (CSER) is based in the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at The University of Adelaide, and is home to the CSER STEM Professional Learning Program.

This role will support the work of the CSER National Lending Library, helping in the preparation and distribution of digital technology kits to schools across Australia. We are seeking someone who has a strong work ethic, initiative and who thrives in being highly organised. Due to the nature of the role working with lending library kits and organisation of receiving/outgoing kits, this position requires in-person attendance at the CSER office at The University of Adelaide North Terrace Campus.

The position will involve the following tasks:

  • Manual handling - moving older kits from storage (on campus) checking their functionality, charging them up and helping to reintegrate them back into library circulation.
  • Preparing digital technology kits for inclusion in the Lending Library for distribution to Australian schools under the supervision of the CSER Project Manager and Project Support Officer.
  • Charging robots and equipment.
  • Updating software by connecting equipment to the internet, updating labels and paperwork (eg printing/photocopying)
  • Clear, concise, and respectful communication with stakeholders and staff in person, or via email and phone.
  • Ability to follow technology setup instructions and to support basic trouble-shooting issues.
  • A willingness to use and learn how to use new technologies.
  • Ability to follow systems and processes with accuracy and in a systematic, highly organised manner.
  • Maintains accurate records and can support reporting activities.
