Casual Research Assistant position available commencing in March 2025.

As a Research Assistant you will be part of an international interdisciplinary and multi-institutional research team in the area of One Health and contribute to research in the area of climate change and mental health.

As part of project Equip, you will be part of a multi-state research project implementing community-based mental wellbeing and disaster preparedness programs in natural hazard-prone rural communities and assessing longer-term mental health outcomes.

Your role will include supporting community engagement and the establishment and implementation of the research project, assisting with recruitment and data collection, and contribute to data analysis and reporting and conference presentations.

You will work under guidance of the chief investigator team, and in collaboration with the trial coordinator and research fellow. You will also work with community connectors in local communities.

To be successful you will need: 

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the conduct of research projects including recruitment, data collection, data management, and quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis or spatial analysis
  • Working knowledge of environmental and community psychology, mental health, rural health, evaluation, prevention and early intervention 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet milestones
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including for communicating effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • An Honours degree or equivalent research experience in a psychology or health-related discipline

To be successful you will need:
