The State Government of South Australia, CSIRO, and the University of Adelaide’s Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) are actively interested in advancing leading research and development of AI.

The AIML at the University of Adelaide is the largest computer vision and machine learning research group in Australia with over 180 members including academics, research staff and students. The AIML works on a mixture of fundamental and commercially orientated research projects in computer vision and machine learning.

The new Responsible AI Research (RAIR) Centre will leverage AIML and CSIRO Data61s existing expertise to focus on the development of cross-cutting responsible AI research and address fundamental responsible AI problems at a sufficient scale for national and international impact.

The RAIR Centre is seeking a dynamic Project and Admin Officer to contribute to the efficient operation of the Centre and support our wider community. Receiving broad direction from the RAIR Director and Program Manager, the RAIR Project and Admin officer will provide executive and admin support in the implementation and operational management of the Centre.

The position will support the Program Manager in delivering the Centre’s objectives. Including but not limited to recruitment, event management, stakeholder engagement, diary coordination and record keeping.

This critical role is essential in fostering a productive and positive work environment, contributing to a welcoming office atmosphere.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in providing efficient support to a senior executive, with the ability to undertake multiple tasks with competing deadlines whilst exercising sound professional judgement.
  • Relevant experience in a complex organisation requiring communication and collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of research in an Australian higher education environment.
  • Relevant experience with recruitment, financial management and/or events management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write communications for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work activity, work under pressure and prioritise time and resources using established processes and technology to achieve optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
