HEO8 $110,291 - $123,734 salary per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Finance is a part of the Division of University Operations, which provides strategic financial management, reporting and transaction support services to the University to enable achievement of the University’s teaching and research goals. The Branch is responsible for oversight of the University’s annual operating budget, capital budget and asset base.

Working under broad direction with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Management Accountant is responsible for delivering the agreed high-quality management accounting services to the University of Adelaide. These services include budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, financial & management reporting, transaction processing, financial systems administration, implementing an effective financial control framework and monitoring compliance with university financial policies.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering management accounting services within a large complex organisation with diverse business areas, including undertaking detailed accounting and financial analysis to prepare reports, using data from a variety of information sources.
  • Extensive experience in planning and conducting complex and specialist financial modelling and analysis and in managing high level projects or investigations that supports the delivery of sound accounting solutions.
  • Demonstrated current knowledge of financial legislation, regulations and accrual accounting principles, standards, policies, guiding reference documents and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating, both verbally and in writing, in a succinct, professional and responsive manner to deliver results to key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple high-level functions with competing priorities and deadlines and applying expert problem-solving skills to the management of complex strategic or operational problems or issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.

Qualification/s:

  •  CPA or CA qualified or working towards, plus extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
