The School of Education has a strong research culture spanning various disciplinary areas including inclusive education, wellbeing education, assessment and evaluation, social and digital change, and international and comparative education. As we look to the future and the exciting pathway ahead, we are seeking a dynamic, innovative ground-breaking researcher in the field of teacher education, particularly initial teacher education. A truly unique career opportunity awaits; The School has approximately 30 staff and revenue in excess of $30 million. Reporting to the Head of School, you will be a leading member of the School of Education available to sit on committees and to take on leadership roles as and when they arise. This is a balanced role spanning teaching and research, which will involve undergraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to make an important contribution to the education of the next generation, to build collaborative research networks, and to model the highest standards of research excellence and collegiality.
This professorial appointment is targeted to the fields of Teacher Education, specifically initial teacher education.
To be successful you will need:
- To be a dynamic senior academic who has a reputation of academic distinction in teacher education
- A track record of outstanding scholarly publications
- Evidence of significant domestic and international research networks
- Sustained success in winning competitive grant funding
- Demonstrated ability to forge partnerships with community, industry or other organisations in producing impactful research outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality undergraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision
- Evidence of a leadership style that promotes capacity for collaboration and supports the mentoring of colleagues
