The University of Adelaide is embarking on an exciting journey into 2026 and beyond! The high performing ITDS Team is seeking two experienced Application Specialists (HR) to provide high quality expert service to the University’s internal and external stakeholders.

Previous PeopleSoft/HR System experience and excellent stakeholder engagement skills will assist the Application Specialists to be successful in this role.

Reporting to the Manager, ITDS, the Application Specialist (HR) is a key role in the functional design, maintenance and support of products and related interfaces including providing expert advice on system requirements, resolution of system and data issues, monitoring of processes and procedures, system configuration, testing, and development and maintenance of system documentation.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing functional support including:
    • Process and data management.
    • System configuration
    • Data analysis
    • Testing and validation for the management of payroll
    • Managing employment records and absence management records using the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) platform or equivalent HR systems.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing and documenting existing business processes and designing improvements for effective system solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationship and influence a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to provide high-level of customer service focus.


  • A relevant tertiary qualification of at least bachelor level and at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and or / education / training.

Experience with the Higher Education sector is highly desirable.
