Strategic Executive Officer position available supporting the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Indigenous Engagement
The position is a critical interface between the Officer of the Pro Vice Chancellor, Indigenous Education, and the broader University, requiring regular professional engagement with a range of stakeholders, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, DASE. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external to the University and acting as their key point of contact is a core component of the role. The position routinely liaises, advises, negotiates and works closely with stakeholders to achieve operational objectives.
The Executive Officer provides coordination and support to key projects and initiatives, as well as investigating, analysing and providing advice and recommendations on a range of matters. Importantly, the role acts as the lead communications and coordination point for Wirltu Yarlu, Manager and Senior Management team across the university.
To be successful you will need:
- Comprehensive awareness and understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in the higher education sector.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational skills and the ability to strategically priortise workloads and use sound judgement in decision-making.
- Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with key internal and external stakeholders and proven experience drafting management documents.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and high level conceptual, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated high level management experience and sound understanding of financial and management reporting systems.
