Resolve the origins of a new style of rare earth element mineralisation and it's importance to Australia’s critical minerals resource potential
This exciting position is funded through an ARC research project to examine Australia’s rare earth element ore potential. We are seeking to appoint an accomplished Earth scientist to undertake geological research on the origins and exploration potential of unconformity-related heavy rare earth element mineralisation of central Australia.
The successful applicant will join a newly-established and growing Critical Minerals Research Centre within the Department of Earth Sciences at The University of Adelaide. The research work will involve close collaboration with scientists from academia, government and industry partners.
To be successful you will need:
- PhD or equivalent degree in Geology, or a related field.
- A commitment to research excellence in mineralogy, geochemistry, petrology or ore geology, with a demonstrated relevant publication track record in leading scientific journals.
- A proven ability to conduct independent research, as well as to work effectively as a member of a research team.
- Expertise in acquisition and interpretation of geo-analytical data.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
