As a Technician- Chemical Operations in the Infrastructure and Technical Services Team (I&TST), your role will be to deliver technical support and advice for teaching and research projects to students, academics and research staff in line with the strategic direction of the Faculty.
You will be required to support the day to day operation of the chemical operations within the faculty of Engineering Computer and Mathematical Sciences, which includes the use of chemicals and analytical equipment, to maintain safe operations and achieve teaching and research outcomes.
A strong emphasis is placed on safety, positive teamwork, accurate record keeping, effective time management and clear communication skills.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements relating to a Research and Development environment.
- Ability to use your interpersonal skills to achieve effective outcomes when working with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in using and working safely with a range of chemicals ideally in a chemical engineering and/ or bioengineering research environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative to learn new skills and processes.
- Proven knowledge and experience in using a range of analytical equipment.
