Funded through the ARC Graphene Enabled Industry Transformation Hub, this role will offer you an exceptional opportunity to work closely with key industry and research partners of the Hub. This exciting opportunity will see you transforming graphene technology research into real-word applications. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other leading local and international researchers.

Based in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials at the University of Adelaide, North Terrace campus, you will work as part of a multi-institutional team to develop graphene-enhanced technologies for industrial applications including mining and infrastructure. Your work will provide the key elements for many Hub projects by optimizing the production of graphene-based materials with specific properties such as metals selectivity, strength or thermal conductivity. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team of academics and postgraduate students all with expertise in graphene-based technologies. To be successful you will need:

  • A PhD (or thesis submitted) in Chemistry, Chemical or Materials Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience and demonstrated competence in graphene production and functionalisation
  • Experience and demonstrated competence in characterising 2D materials using analytical instrumentation
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate research concepts to technical audiences/wide range of audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team and interact effectively with colleagues and external collaborators
