Provide complete administrative and logistical support to Editors, Editorial Office staff and other stakeholders

The Editorial Assistant is a key position for the international scientific periodical, the JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports (JBISRIR) that is focused on preparation of high quality manuscripts for online publication. The JBISRIR publishes research content to support healthcare practice and policy worldwide.

The successful applicant will provide complete administrative and logistical support to the Editors, Editorial Office staff and other stakeholders of the JBISRIR, including peer reviewers and authors across a range of editorial and production tasks. The successful applicant will be familiar with compiling and analysing metrics, preparation of reports and will liaise with authors, journal editors and a UK based production team. This is a dynamic role with an opportunity to engage with academic publishing and research processes.

This role sits within the Editorial Office of the JBISRIR in the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) in The University of Adelaide. JBI is an international research and development agency with over 30 staff in its headquarters in Adelaide and more than 1500 researchers located in Collaborating Entities around the world.  With almost 80 Centres and Groups, JBI is a recognised global leader in evidence-based healthcare.

To be successful you will need:

  • Outstanding skills in the use of MS-Office suite, including MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat software tools
  • Demonstrated analytical ability (identify and handle data) and preparation of reports
  • Organisational skills for prioritising work and an ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in administrative/logistical role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language
