The Project Officer plays a key role in supporting research excellence at the University through the delivery and improvement of research ethics, compliance, and integrity systems and processes.
This position supports strategic and system-based projects that enhance the efficiency, quality, and compliance of research activities across the University.
Working within a high-performing team in the Office of Research Ethics, Compliance and Integrity (ORECI), this role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the University’s research mission. You will be involved in delivering process and system enhancements, supporting digital research compliance systems, and collaborating with academic and professional staff across a world-leading research institution.
It’s an ideal role for someone looking to apply their project, systems, and stakeholder engagement skills in a dynamic, research-focused environment.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies and procedures, and to analyse information and workflows to identify and implement business process and system improvements that enhance administrative efficiency and service quality;
- Demonstrated high-level computing skills and competence in standard office software and information management systems, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing digital and operational environments;
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence and briefing papers for internal and external audiences;
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including academic, professional, and external partners, to support service delivery and project success;
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the delivery of projects and operational objectives, working effectively both independently and as part of a high-functioning team to achieve planned outcomes;
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment;
- Understanding of research structures, ethics and compliance processes in a research-intensive University context (desirable);
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to consistently demonstrate the associated behavioural expectations.
Qualifications:
- A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
