HEO7 ($101,785 - $113,839) per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Help shape Australia’s agricultural future by leading strategic engagement for a national research network driving real-world impact, from advanced plant science to global food security.

The Australian Plant Phenomics Network (APPN), led by the University of Adelaide, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing and Engagement Analyst to support the growth and impact of Australia’s leading plant phenotyping infrastructure. This position will be based on the University's Waite Campus.

The APPN operates under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS), providing world-class imaging and data capabilities for plant research across diverse environments, from controlled growth chambers to remote field sites. With nine nodes located across six states and territories, and backed by major research institutions and a state government department, the APPN plays a vital role in advancing sustainable agriculture and agricultural innovation nationally.

Working as part of the central management team, the successful candidate will be instrumental in helping advance the network’s marketing strategies, stakeholder engagement and business development . This includes implementing and supporting stakeholder relationship management (SRM) systems, conducting impact assessments, and developing targeted promotional campaigns. You will collaborate closely with the APPN CEO, Expert Working Group Chairs, and Communications team to engage stakeholders, support strategic outreach, and raise awareness of APPN’s services and value.

Applicants should have at least four years’ experience in agricultural business development or research environments, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a strong ability to work collaboratively in high-performing, purpose-driven teams.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated knowledge and at least four years’ experience in an agricultural business or business development or research funding environments.
  • Demonstrated experience of commercial market potential assessment in agricultural business or agricultural research environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder or customer management systems and application.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

 

 Qualifications:

A degree in either Agricultural Science or Agricultural Economics, or equivalent, with at least four years relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or training, including broad experience in a scientific/research and/or industry environment(s).
