The Creative Manager inspires, nurtures and manages the University of Adelaide’s in-house creative team and all its talent and capabilities. The role leads the team to deliver compelling creative marketing communications that support the University’s strategic priorities and brand strategy.

In addition, the Creative Manager is responsible for overseeing the creative services model and agency roster. Reviewing the performance of the model and ensuring high quality outputs across all delivery types, as well as streamlined access to creative services for the University community.

To be successful you will bring together individual crafts to achieve integrated outcomes across platforms. You’ll nurture the individual talents of the team, empowering team members with clear accountability and ownership, while aligning outputs to brand and marketing objectives to ensure strong foundations for performance. You’ll work in cooperation with agencies and marketing leaders to interpret brand strategy into effective expression across visuals and voice.

A strong people leader, you’ll establish strong metrics and clear KPIs that guide the whole team towards success. You’ll be leading the prioritization framework and thinking ahead to how the creative services model will evolve and grow in value and maturity over time.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about teams and people leadership, with a focus on coaching as a way to lead a high-performing team. It’s important to have a growth mindset both for yourself, but also for the people you’ll be working with.

To be successful you will need:

  • 10+ years in senior creative roles including agency environments.
  • Experience in all aspects of integrated channel campaigns, including digital, print, ATL, social and web.
  • Experience across video, web, photography, copy, social, design.
  • Experience in creative concept development and nailing the creative brief in line with target audiences and marketing objectives.
  • Demonstrated effective relationship management skills and the ability to liaise with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of the creative supplier market and experience in managing panels across all creative outputs. Comfortable directing both art and copy talent.
  • Fantastic people leadership skills – including a strong sense of fostering creative culture, people and team.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations
