Join us as a Research Officer supporting the VISOR trial, an innovative study of Virtual Reality-based therapy aimed at enhancing social functioning for young people experiencing or at risk for psychosis.
You will play a vital role in recruiting participants and facilitating data collection for the VISOR trial, focusing on advancing treatments for young people with first episode psychosis or who are at risk for psychosis. Collaborate closely with experts from the University of Adelaide's Discipline of Psychiatry and headspace Adelaide, receiving comprehensive training in clinical research assessments and qualitative interviews. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and make a tangible impact on therapeutic interventions.
The Research Officer will work closely with and support the VR Study Clinician who will be administering the therapy. You will be responsible for participant recruitment, maintaining study databases, conducting clinical research assessments and qualitative interviews under supervision, and ensuring adherence to study and site protocols and receive ongoing training and support from investigative team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in research methodologies and psychological therapies that utilise Virtual Reality.
To be successful you will need:
- A degree in psychology, behavioural or social sciences and/or related discipline, with subsequent experience
- Experience conducting structured clinical interviews and assessments in research settings) according to study protocols noting any deviations from the protocol.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under general direction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient computing skills, including using the Microsoft Office suite and data entry into electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
This position requires a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
