Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in photocatalysis and related chemistry with a strong publication record in highly regarded scientific journals.

Chemistry at the University of Adelaide has been consistently ranked well above world class in the Excellence in Research for Australia national audits. The department has two major research strengths: Energy, Materials and Environmental Chemistry and Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. These research strengths are underpinned by an extensive portfolio of laboratories, world-class materials characterisation and analytical facilities that support a vibrant postgraduate research community and partnerships with national and international research consortia.

The successful applicant will be involved in both research and teaching within Chemistry. You should have a strong research track record in photocatalysis, particularly understanding the process and underlying mechanisms. To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in Chemistry or related field.
  • Demonstrated research excellence and interest in photocatalysis, particularly understanding the process and underlying mechanisms, relative to career stage, including a publication record in highly regarded scientific journals.
  • Ability to develop an independent research program, and to establish and maintain research links with other research groups locally, nationally and/or internationally.
  • Teaching experience in chemical sciences at the undergraduate level.
  • Evidence of engagement with the broader chemistry and scientific community.
