The School of Allied Health Science and Practice seeks Expressions of Interest from registered Occupational Therapists for casual clinical educator opportunities.
From July to November 2025, The University of Adelaide Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) program will be conducting a 15 day (one day a week for 15 weeks) Simulated Clinical Placement experience for 3rd year occupational therapy students before they commence their traditional clinical placement blocks. This placement acts as a bridge between theory and real-world practice, with the aim to optimise placement readiness through development of student foundational professional behaviours, communication, and clinical skills in a standardised manner.
The Simulated Clinical Placement course involves student participation in a range of simulated client case studies, indirect clinical activities, and non-clinical tasks reflective of what would be encountered during a traditional clinical placement. The primary simulated clinical case studies involve trained actors playing the role of the patient. The inpatient simulated placement experience will take place within the University’s 12-bed simulated health care facility and include access to a variety of other university facilities to optimise student experience. Experienced Occupational Therapists are required to facilitate and supervise these simulated learning experiences as casual clinical educators.
