An exclusive role has opened up to join the library team within the Division of Academic & Student Engagement in a fulltime capacity, located in the iconic Barr Smith Library.

The University Library provides resources, services and spaces that enable and support staff and students to achieve success in their research, teaching and learning. These activities include collection development and management, both physical and electronic; services associated with the discovery of, access to and use of information resources; provision of flexible study spaces and guardianship of special and heritage collections. Services and resources are provided online and from the physical locations of the Barr Smith Library, the Sir John Salmond Law Library and libraries at Waite and Roseworthy campuses.
We are looking for a positive natured team player to join the library team in the capacity of the Senior Library Officer, who will provide support to the delivery of Library services in person across sites and online. The role is responsible for customer-focused service, attending to routine and more complex enquiries received as part of the Ask Library Service. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising assigned staff in relation to specific tasks and coordinating small projects and process improvements.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated customer services skills, taking pride in providing solutions and delivering outstanding service.
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, coupled with maturely developed time management and organisation skills.
- Proficient in operating in and adapting to different technology systems and platforms.
- A natural willingness to help and a demonstrated ability in providing outstanding frontline customer service in a timely manner through various modes, including via phone, email, online chat and in person enquiries.
- Executing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when working on complex tasks to their completion and using professional discretion to escalate as required.
- An ability to be flexible in regard to working location, such as traveling to and working from other University of Adelaide libraries as required.
