The Deputy Director is a specialist senior microscopist position with operational leadership responsibilities for Adelaide Microscopy. This role provides operational oversight of the facility, supporting centre staff and key stakeholders including research staff, students and external clients, and is a key contributor towards the facility’s operational and strategic direction.

To be successful you will need to:

  • Positively engage direct reports in the Planning, Development and Review process, and identify opportunities for staff to promote continuous improvement through professional development and project opportunities.
  • Effectively lead the team in all aspects of people management including providing guidance, coaching and development.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, sense of purpose, strategic planning and effective management to ensure optimisation of the Unit’s resources in delivery of the overall vision of the University.
  • Promote and embrace diversity within the team and encourage staff development and opportunities in a fair, unbiased and ethical manner.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with University HS&W policies and legislation.
