The School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences is recruiting a research fellow to work on next generation network security technologies.

Join a world-class research group to work on a project developing provable network security methods that use higher-order graph-based abstractions to model networks and network security problems. Scalable algorithms developed for these models are then used to generate, check, verify and correct network/device configurations for correctness and security issues. The same framework will also be used to predict and plan security countermeasures.

Experience and knowledge of the following skills will be highly considered:

  • System and network security

  • Network emulation and virtualisation
  • IP allocation, DNS, ACL concepts, configuration of various network protocols and services using open-source software (i.e. bind, ffr, iptables, Apache, Open vSwitch)

 Essential to this role:

  • To have or about to complete a PhD in related fields; or equivalent experience.
  • To be eligible to hold a Commonwealth of Australia Department of Defence security clearance.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and collegial manner, and to build rapport with all levels of academic and professional staff within a diverse and inclusive work environment; and
