Working under the direction, of Project Manager Construction Compliance, the Built Environments Advisor is responsible for providing HSW services, support, advice and coordination that assists with ensuring the ongoing safety of the branches staff, contractors and visitors, in compliance with all relevant government legislation, and the University’s HSW Handbook.

The Built Environments Advisor reviews submitted Permits/Permissions to Work and Safe Work Method Statements and will support the implementation of consistent safety processes across Infrastructure, and contribute to the continual improvement of HSW outcomes across the Branch.

To be successful you will need: 

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of the South Australian WHS legislation and requirements in a construction and facilities management environment.
• Demonstrated experience in influencing management to effect positive safety outcomes across a large and complex business unit.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with experience communicating both verbally and in writing in a succinct, professional, and responsive manner.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare HSW related material, documentation and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.

This position requires a National Police clearance.
