School of Mathematical Sciences are seeking to fill the position of ARC Grant-Funded Researcher.
The successful candidate will be a qualified researcher with experience demonstrated by publications and/or conference participation, with the potential to further develop a strong publication record, skills in stochastic modelling, applied probability and network modelling.
In this position, you will work with Professor Matt Roughan, Dr Lewis Mitchell and Dr Jonathan Tuke at the University of Adelaide, as part of a joint program entitled `Modelling and Control of Networks’. The position is situated within the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS). ACEMS is a significant multidisciplinary and multi-institutional centre that has an annual discretionary budget of approximately $4 million. The participating institutions are: The University of Melbourne (lead), Queensland University of Technology, The University of Adelaide, The University of Queensland, The University of Technology Sydney, The University of New South Wales and Monash University. The Centre will run until 30 June 2021.
To be successful you will need:
- A PhD in mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications and research experience. Applicants who are nearing the completion of their PhD are also acceptable.
- Research capability, as typically demonstrated by publications and/or conference participation, and the potential to develop further a good publication record.
- Demonstrated skills in network modelling.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to commit to the specified research project.
