The Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. The Computer Science Education Research Group (CSER) is based in the School of Computer Science at the University of Adelaide, and is home to the CSER MOOC Digital Technologies Professional Learning Program. The CSER MOOC program provides free, online professional learning for Australian Teachers to assist them in delivering the new Australian Digital Technologies learning area. We are seeking to appoint an additional member to our enthusiastic team of Digital Technologies Project Officers, based across Australia, to support the CSER MOOC program: a 4-year National support program, providing embedded face-to-face support across Australia, with a focus on supporting disadvantaged and Indigenous communities. We are seeking to fill a part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed-term HEO8 position, based in Sydney, New South Wales. This position will work in close collaboration with our Port Macquarie based Project Officer.

The Digital Technologies Project Officer will run a face-to-face professional learning program based on the CSER MOOC program (Foundation-10) in New South Wales. Your role as Digital Technologies Project Officer will be to engage with local learning communities, deliver professional learning support activities based on the CSER MOOC program, and assist in coordinating a National Lending Library program for Digital Technologies equipment. Duties will include making contacts and building networks within your local learning community, designing and delivering professional learning activities, monitoring and checking participation within the CSER MOOC program, monitoring and facilitating participation in the accompanying National Lending Library program, and assisting with data gathering for annual reporting requirements.

The position will suit a home office based arrangement.

Salary: (HEO8) $95,493 – $107,179 per annum (Full-time salary)

Superannuation: An employer contribution of up to 17% may apply.

Term of position:  12 Month position commencing in late 2018/early 2019

Position requirements

To be successful you should have: 

  • Relevant teacher qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Digital Technologies learning area (Foundation-10).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering professional learning programs (Foundation-10).
  • Experience, or potential, in establishing learning communities and networking with key stakeholders from a diverse range of organisations.
  • Well-developed written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain work accuracy.
