Research Services supports the University's research endeavours and performance by providing services to the research community. Services relate to oversight of the Excellence for Research in Australia (ERA) data collection, supporting applications for competitive research grants and fellowships, research compliance and regulatory activities, intellectual property management, contract research and consulting and legal advice.
The Senior Research Grants Officer is part of the Research Grants Unit team and is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality research management services and is responsible for coordinating pre and post award administration of a portfolio of grant schemes. The Senior Research Grants Officer will exercise a high degree of independence, mature judgement and liaise directly with University senior officers and external parties
The Senior Research Grants Officer is accountable for high quality grant services designed to streamline administration and increase the level and diversity of external research funding of the University of Adelaide They are responsible for coordinating pre and post award administration of a portfolio of research grants schemes; organising seminars and helping staff to target programs and prepare quality applications, notifying staff of outcomes, liaising with sponsors, Faculties, Schools, Institutes and grant holders; and coordinating services with Research & Business Partnerships, Research Accounting, Human Resources, Adelaide Graduate Centre and other areas of central university administration.
Salary: Higher Education Officer level 7 ($85,105 - $95,231 per annum).
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.
Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately.
To be successful you should have:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality advice to staff on research grant administration issues, including pre and post award matters.
- Demonstrated high-level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative, instigate and undertake tasks with minimum supervision and work effectively both independently and as a team member.
- Excellent organisational skills including an ability to work to tight (externally imposed) deadlines.
